francis george mento: bio

born in riga , 01-1-1960

da padre italiano, emigrato nel 1957 e da madre lettone

negli anni 70 studia da elettricista,dopodiche  emigra prima negli stati uniti dai nonni materni e poi in Italia dove approda alla fine degli anni 80 alla ricerca delle radici paterne.scopre il suo amore per la fotografia  lavorando a firenze,in un appartaento  al primo piano di viale corsica, dove aveva trovato lavoro come aiutante di un famoso e ormai scomparso fotoriparatore in carrozzella, e dove, sempre dalla stessa finestra, scattava fotografie per provare le macchine da riconsegnare ai clienti. Troviamo sue tracce riconoscibili in umbria,lazio, salento, ma sopratutto nelle isole dell`arcipelago e in tutta la toscana, ormai eletta sua terra di  vita .

Francis George Mento, in art  FraGMento, born in  Riga 1-1-1960. Italian father, immigrant in  Latvia in 1957 and  Latvian mother. In early 70’s  he attend a scool x electrician, and than he  goes in USA lookin’ x his  motherly roots (mother’s parents were immigrants in USA), and in early 80’s he goes in italy looking x his fatherly roots. In Florence he works as helper of a famous photocamera troubleshooter, and he discover his love x photography  taking always  pictures from the same  window to test the photocameras. We find his tracks in all italy and finally in the islands of Tuscany , that he  elects his ground of life.
